Jose Altuve Hits Big Home Run On His Birthday
4 years agoHouston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve hit a huge three-run home run in the eighth inning off of New York Yankees reliever Chad Green on his 31st birthday on Thursday to give his club the 7-4 victory. It was Altuve's first career homer on his birthday and helped the Astros avoid a three-game sweep. He finished the day 2-for-5 with the three-run homer and a single. Through 21 games this year, Altuve is slashing .256/.295/.372 and has six walks, 12 RBI and 14 strikeouts. He entered the game on Thursday in a 2-for-28 funk since April 28, so hopefully the big performance in the Bronx will keep Altuve rolling into the weekend. Altuve had a rough 2020 campaign, but he's looked better so far this year and remains a must-start.
