Joe Musgrove To Be Shut Down For Three Weeks
1 year agoSan Diego Padres right-hander Joe Musgrove (shoulder) underwent an MRI exam on his right shoulder that showed inflammation in his capsule, according to general manager A.J. Preller. Musgrove will now be shut down for three weeks after recently having his start pushed back to next week. He obviously won't make that start early next week against the Seattle Mariners now, and fantasy managers are going to have to keep him stashed until he returns. However, with the final month of the regular season in September, Musgrove may only have a handful of starts to help his fantasy managers. It's a tough blow for the Friars rotation, as Musgrove has been an anchor all year by going 10-3 with a 3.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 97 strikeouts over 97 1/3 innings (17 starts).
