Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton (undisclosed) is making progress in his recovery from an undisclosed injury and is considered day-to-day, head coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday. Burton suffered the injury during the Bengals' preseason-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 7 and didn't play in their win over the Washington Commanders on Monday. The Bengals used the 80th overall pick in the 2024 draft on Burton, but the move hasn't panned out thus far. Burton had some off-the-field issues as a rookie and caught a meager four passes on 14 targets in 14 games. The 24-year-old probably won't be anything more than the Bengals' No. 4 receiver in 2025 with stars Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins locked into the top two spots and Andrei Iosivas coming off a solid second season.--Connor Byrne
