Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 6 matchup with the Panthers due to a superficial blood clot, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport. A team statement said that after being cleated in the Week 4 loss to the Rams, a precautionary ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot before last week's international game against the Jaguars. Doctors concluded that Hurts could safely play in the game but recommended a follow-up ultrasound upon returning to Philadelphia. After playing without limitation, the second ultrasound revealed movement in the small clot, and Hurts will now miss his first game of the season. Fourth-year quarterback Tanner McKee is expected to start in his place.--Patrick McGrath
