Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter (heel) has been ruled out for the Week 6 game on Thursday night against the division-rival New York Giants, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. With Carter sidelined, it will be a boost for the Giants' ground game and running backs Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy Jr. It's also a pretty big downgrade for the interior of Philly's defensive line, but their defense/special teams should still be considered a must-start on a short week against a New York offense with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart leading the offense in only his third NFL game. With the 24-year-old Carter out of action on Thursday, expect to see more of veteran Za'Darius Smith and Byron Young for the Eagles' defense at MetLife Stadium.--Keith Hernandez
