Jake Cronenworth Sitting Against Southpaw
Jake Cronenworth will start Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Washington Nationals on the bench with a left-hander on the bump. Jose Iglesias will start at the keystone and hit seventh against Nationals southpaw MacKenzie Gore. Cronenworth will get his first day off since May 23 against a tough lefty. The left-handed-hitting infielder has gone 11-for-53 (.208) with two of his six home runs and 13 strikeouts in 63 plate appearances against lefties this season. In the month of June, he has hit a modest .241 (19-for-79) with two home runs, three doubles, eight RBI, one steal and six runs scored in 23 games played. The 31-year-old two-time All-Star has provided modest power and counting stats as middle-infield depth in deep-mixed fantasy leagues. Iglesias has three hits in six career at-bats against Gore, but he's an unattractive DFS sleeper with virtually no upside.
