Jaguars Officially Place Travis Etienne Jr. On Injured Reserve
3 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars officially placed first-round running back Travis Etienne (foot) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday after it was announced that he'll need season-ending surgery on a left mid-foot sprain that he suffered in the preseason game on Monday night against the New Orleans Saints. It means the Jags can't bring him back this year, and he'll miss his entire rookie season. Etienne's speed and versatility makes him worth a high pick in dynasty leagues despite the injury, but he can obviously be removed from draft boards in redraft leagues in 2021. James Robinson's ceiling as an RB2 just got a little higher with Etienne sidelined for the entire season, while veteran Carlos Hyde becomes a bit more intriguing as a late-round pick in standard-scoring formats or as a handcuff to Robinson.
