Jacob deGrom Feels Good After Bullpen Session
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (lat) remains on track to start on Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks after he felt "really good" following a bullpen session on Friday, according to manager Luis Rojas. deGrom was scratched from Monday's start with right lat inflammation. While the Mets haven't officially committed to him for Sunday, it's looking like he will make the start. It's pretty wild how good the 32-year-old right-hander has been so far in 2021, posting a 0.57 WHIP with 59 strikeouts and just four walks in 35 innings over five starts. deGrom hasn't allowed more than one earned run in any start this year and hasn't pitched fewer than six innings. He's a must-start if he returns to the mound against Arizona.
