Jack Suwinski Goes on Injured List With Groin Strain
Jack Suwinski (groin) on the 10-day injured list with a right-groin strain and recalled outfielder Ronny Simon from Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Suwinski has been a platoon outfielder for the Pirates this year when he's been on the major-league roster, but he hasn't contributed much at all and was not a fantasy factor in mixed leagues whatsoever. The 27-year-old left-handed hitter is currently batting a weak .132 (16-for-121) with three home runs, eight RBI, 13 runs scored and six stolen bases in 48 games played in his fourth year in the majors. With Suwinski sidelined for at least the next 10 days, Alexander Canario and Simon could get some run in Pittsburgh's outfield.
