Jack Flaherty Should Start Rehab Assignment Next Week
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (shoulder) is aimed toward beginning his minor league rehab assignment with a start next week for Double-A Springfield. Flaherty threw a two-inning live batting practice session on Tuesday and will throw another bullpen session on Thursday. The 26-year-old right-hander is feeling much better physically after a right shoulder injury in spring training delayed his start to the 2022 campaign. It remains to be seen how many minor league starts Flaherty will need, but the Cardinals surely won't rush him back. When healthy, Flaherty has the goods to be a strong SP2 for fantasy managers, so he should be stashed now if he's lingering on your league's waiver wire.
