J.D. Martinez Goes Deep Twice In Win Over Tigers
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez was seeing the ball well in Monday night's 8-3 win over the visiting Detroit Tigers. Martinez finished the team's 92 win of the year by going 3-for-4 with two home runs, five RBI, two runs scored and a strikeout. The time off that Martinez took in August due to a lingering hamstring issue appears to have done him some good, as he's gone 15-for-48 (.313) with three home runs, two doubles, 15 RBI and seven runs scored in 13 starts since coming off the injured list on Aug. 15. The six-time All-Star needs just two more home runs to reach the 30-homer mark for the fifth time in his career. Martinez is hitting .266/.318/.556 overall with an .873 OPS, 24 doubles, two triples, 91 RBI and 55 runs scored in 101 games in his first year in LA.
