Griffin Conine Begins Throwing Program
Griffin Conine (shoulder) has begun a throwing program as he recovers from season-ending surgery on his left shoulder, Kevin Barral of Fish on First reports. Conine, who dislocated his shoulder on April 19, threw from 60 feet on Tuesday and will increase the distance by 15 feet every other day. The 28-year-old expects to be cleared for full swings with the bat in three to four weeks, and he should be ready for the Arizona Fall League or an international winter league. Conine debuted in 2024 and has amassed just 160 plate appearances since then, but he has hit a productive .274/.338/.445 with four home runs and 19 RBI. If healthy, he'll have a good chance to earn a roster spot next spring.
