George Springer Likely Headed To Injured List
6 years agoHouston Astros manager A.J. Hinch said that outfielder George Springer (hamstring) is likely headed to the injured list after leaving the game early on Friday after attempting a diving catch in the outfield. He was hitless with an RBI in four plate appearances before leaving late in the game. The 29-year-old outfielder missed four games this week with lower back stiffness and is now hurt again with a different injury. He's been one of the best hitters in the game this year, slashing .308/.389/.643 with 17 home runs, 41 runs, 43 RBI and four steals, so this is a huge loss for the Astros and fantasy owners. Jake Marisnick should continue to see regular playing time with Springer likely sidelined for at least 10 days.
