George Springer Could Return Friday
6 years agoHouston Astros manager A.J. Hinch said that outfielder George Springer (back) could return to the starting lineup on Friday. Springer hasn't played since Sunday due to lower back tightness, but he's been taking batting practice and appears close to returning. The 29-year-old ranks eighth in the American League in batting average (.313), second in runs scored (41), fifth in hits (57), first in home runs (17) and first in RBI (42), so his fantasy owners will surely be ecstatic when he comes back. Jake Marisnick will go back to a bench role when Springer returns to the lineup.
