Framber Valdez Throws Live Batting Practice
4 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez (finger) threw a live batting practice session on Friday and threw all of his pitches during a 20-pitch session against live hitters, according to manager Dusty Baker. "That was the best news I've had in a while," Baker said. The left-hander has missed all of the season to this point after fracturing his left ring finger in spring training. There remains no clear timetable for the 27-year-old southpaw's return, but he's clearly getting closer to making his 2021 season debut. Valdez could rejoin the Astros as soon as he can go five innings while facing hitters. He broke out last season with a 3.57 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 11 games (10 starts), and he should remain stashed in all fantasy leagues with his return getting closer.
