Eric Lauer Joining Team On Friday
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell said that left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer (illness) has been dealing with a non-COVID-related illness, but he'll be joining the team for workouts on Friday. Lauer was part of the trade that sent Zach Davies and Trent Grisham to the Padres. The southpaw was 8-10 with a 4.45 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 138 strikeouts over 149 2/3 innings for the Friars in 2019, and he's moving to a more hitter-friendly ballpark. If healthy, he projects to be a back-end starter for Milwaukee and is a low-ceiling arm in NL-only leagues. Away from Petco Park, Lauer has a 5.99 ERA and 1.49 WHIP.
