New York Mets infield prospect Elian Pena enjoyed a breakout game in the Dominican Summer League on Thursday. The 17-year-old went 4-for-5 with a double and three home runs. He tallied eight RBI and scored four runs. Before this impressive contest, Pena tallied just two doubles and no home runs across his first 16 games of the regular season. The Mets signed the young infielder in January to a $5 million contract during the international signing period. At the Pena, he was often credited as one of the best pure hitters in the international class. Dynasty managers should keep an eye on his progress as he could push for a late-season taste of Low-A if he were to continue to find his footing. However, given his modest start, he is still several seasons away from reaching the upper levels of the minor leagues.--Andy SmithRead More News
