1 year agoCarolina Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro (groin) could miss some time in the preseason with a groin injury. As a result, the team added Matthew Wright after a pre-practice workout at training camp on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Panthers waived undrafted rookie offensive tackle BJ Wilson. As long as Pineiro doesn't suffer a setback, the 27-year-old should enter the 2023 season as Carolina's starting kicker. In 17 games with the Panthers in 2022, he missed just two of his 35 field-goal attempts while missing two of his 32 extra-point tries. In an offense set to be led by rookie quarterback Bryce Young this year, Pineiro should be off the fantasy radar in most leagues this fall.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
