2 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles have requested permission to interview Seattle Seahawks associate head coach/defensive assistant Sean Desai for their open defensive coordinator position, according to a league source. Desai coached at Temple from 2006-10 and also spent nine seasons in various roles for the Chicago Bears before becoming a defensive assistant under head coach Peter Carroll in Seattle in 2022. The 39-year-old joins former Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph as the second candidate as the Eagles look to replace Jonathan Gannon, who became the Cardinals' new head coach. Desai is the only person of Indian descent to ever serve as an NFL coordinator. The Eagles D ranked second in the league in defense in 2022 and first in pass defense.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
