Dylan Carlson Expected To Begin Rehab Assignment Friday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson (hamstring) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Friday night with Double-A Springfield. Carlson has been on the injured list since suffering a hamstring tear in late May, but he's inching closer towards a return to the Cardinals. Hopefully the time off allowed him reset mentally, as he was having a disappointing season before the injury with a slash line of .247/.291/.363 with only two home runs, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored and one stolen base in 146 at-bats. The 23-year-old was dropped from the leadoff spot as a result, but he should return to a starting role in St. Louis' outfield when he's activated from the injured list, possibly as soon as next week.
