DJ LeMahieu Feeling Much Better
2 years agoNew York Yankees infielder DJ LeMahieu (toe) is feeling significantly better in the offseason, according to a person with knowledge of the team's personnel decisions. The 34-year-old has worked out at the team's facility in Tampa this offseason and hasn't had any setbacks. He decided against offseason surgery after consulting with several doctors. Before his toe became an everyday issue in 2022, LeMahieu was a dangerous hitter, but he finished with a .261/.357/.377 slash line, .734 OPS, 12 home runs, 46 RBI, 74 runs and four stolen bases in 125 games. It's unclear if he'll play every day at the beginning of the season, but if he's fully healthy, LeMahieu projects as the Yankees' regular second baseman and leadoff hitter, giving him plenty of fantasy value despite coming off injury.
