Didi Gregorius Should Return This Weekend
6 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow) should rejoin the team in Cleveland on Friday. The rehabbing shortstop had his first hit with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday to improve to 1-for-12. He's scheduled to play in two more games on Tuesday and Wednesday before making his season debut on Friday. Gregorius has been out all season while recovering from Tommy John surgery last fall. He will return to starting duties at shortstop, which will push Gleyber Torres to the keystone. DJ LeMahieu and Giovanny Urshela may be forced into a platoon at the hot corner. Gregorius was one of the most valuable fantasy shortstops in 2018, so he needs to be owned in all leagues.
