Darren Waller Standing Out At OTAs
6 years agoOakland Raiders tight end Darren Waller has shown some playmaking ability at organized team activities while receiving plenty of first-team work with the offense. "So now that he has that position, it’s your position, you are the ‘Y’ in certain personnel groupings. We’re going to put you out there on the field and you’re going to play. You’re going to get better from playing," offensive coordinator Greg Olson said. With Jared Cook out of the picture, Waller has an opportunity to make some noise. The 26-year-old had six receptions for 75 yards in just four games in his first year in Oakland in 2018. He'll still have to compete with Derek Carrier, Luke Willson, Erik Swoope and rookie Foster Moreau, but Waller is one to keep an eye on as training camp approaches as a potential sleeper at the position.
