Danny Jansen Fine After Hit By Pitch
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said that catcher Danny Jansen (hand) is "fine" after being hit by a pitch on his left hand in the eighth inning on Monday against the Kansas City Royals. Jansen finished off the game behind the plate and is undergoing precautionary X-rays to make sure there's no structural damage in his hand. It doesn't mean that Jansen will be back in the lineup on Tuesday, but it looks like he's avoided a serious injury. The 27-year-old is hitting just .232 with a .290 on-base percentage in 56 at-bats this year for Toronto, but he does have seven home runs, 13 RBI and nine runs scored. Don't be surprised if Alejandro Kirk is catching against the Royals on Tuesday.
