Daniel Vogelbach Starting At Designated Hitter
2 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Daniel Vogelbach will join the starting lineup for Sunday's Game 3 against the San Diego Padres. The 29-year-old sat out Game 2, but is in the lineup for this elimination contest. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh versus right-hander Joe Musgrove. The Mets will opt for some left-handed power here as Vogelbach crushes right-handed pitching. He's never going to hit for a strong average or draw many walks, but the Mets are looking to add some power in this do-or-die game.
