Corey Kluber In Midseason Form
4 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Corey Kluber allowed only two hits and an earned run on a solo home run while walking none and striking out nine in six innings pitched in Thursday's intrasquad game. The right-hander threw 53 strikes out of 80 pitches and recorded more than three outs in the fourth and sixth innings to reach his pitch count. The 34-year-old looks like he's ready for a full workload to begin the regular season. He made only seven starts in 2019 with the Indians due to a broken forearm and was dealt to Texas in the offseason. Kluber isn't as bad as he was in 2019 before his injury (5.80 ERA, 1.65) WHIP but he also may no longer be a perennial Cy Young contender. At his current 93 ADP, though, he has some real bounce-back appeal as a low-end SP2.
