Colts Interview Eric Bieniemy For Head-Coach Job
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay announced on Thursday that the team interviewed Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for their head-coaching position. It is the first known interest in Bieniemy so far this offseason after he was a popular candidate in the previous four hiring cycles. He had interviewed for 15 head-coaching positions with 14 different teams heading into this year's hiring cycle. Bieniemy was with the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010 and spent his first five seasons as the Chiefs' running backs coach before spending the last five years as the offensive coordinator. The Colts fired Frank Reich on Nov. 7 and finished the year with interim head coach Jeff Saturday at the helm.
