Cole Hamels Open To A Return To Phillies
6 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Cole Hamels, who will become a free agent after the 2019 season, would be open to returning to the Phillies, where he began his 14-year career. The 35-year-old has a nice 3.38 ERA in 10 starts this year with the Cubs and still owns a home in Delaware County after being away from the Phillies the last four years. The veteran left-hander has pitched well for Chicago ever since he left the Rangers and also has 60 strikeouts in his 58 2/3 innings. It remains to be seen if the Cubs will want to keep him around beyond this season, but he's still plenty relevant in mixed leagues.
