Cody Bellinger Ahead Of Schedule Following Shoulder Surgery
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger (shoulder) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right (non-throwing) shoulder after dislocating it in Game 7 of the NLCS while celebrating a home run. Bellinger said he's ahead of schedule in his recovery. He took dry swings and hit off a curveball machine on Tuesday and stood in during batting practice Wednesday. The left-handed slugger is scheduled to take part in Cactus League games around March 15, which should give him plenty of time to be ready for Opening Day. "I will 100% be ready for Opening Day if everything goes as planned," Bellinger said. "As of now, I will 100% say that with confidence." Bellinger's barrel rate and average exit velocity dropped slightly from his MVP season in 2019 last year, but the 25-year-old should remain a rock-solid No. 1 fantasy outfielder worth taking in the second round of drafts.
