Carlos Correa Talking To Other Teams
2 years agoFree-agent shortstop Carlos Correa's representatives have renewed contact with at least another interested team or two beyond the New York Mets on Thursday as negotiations with the Mets over proposed contract language changes in the agreed-upon 12-year, $315 million deal ran into at least a couple hiccups. Two weeks into discussions with the Mets have led agent Scott Boras to check in with other teams. The Minnesota Twins, who know Correa best and offered close to $285 million over 10 years, were one of the teams in contact with Boras. The San Francisco Giants, the team that originally agreed to a huge deal with Correa this offseason, could be the other team in contact with Boras. "Ultimately, I don't think Mr. Cohen is going to let him go," one Mets official said.
