Carlos Correa Goes on Seven-Day Concussion Injured List
Carlos Correa (concussion) on the seven-day concussion injured list on Friday, according to The Atheltic's Dan Hayes. Correa collided with outfielder Byron Buxton, who is in the league's concussion protocol, in Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. The 30-year-old was not in the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers and will now sit out for an additional seven days, if not longer, depending on how he progresses through the league's protocols for head injuries. The earliest he'll be able to return will be May 23. Keep Correa stashed in all fantasy leagues while he recovers. In the meantime, Brooks Lee, the eighth overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly, will function as Minnesota's primary shortstop. The 24-year-old switch-hitter will gain deep-league value in the short term. He enters Friday's action hitting .250 (25-for-100) with four homers and 10 RBI.
