Cardinals Working To Sign A.J. Green
4 years agoThe Arizona Cardinals are working on a deal to sign former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green, according to a source. The deal has been in the works since Tuesday night and is expected to come in around one year for $8 million. Green has dropped off significantly in the last few seasons due to various injuries, but he was one of the most prolific players in franchise history for the Bengals over his 11 seasons with the team. Entering his age-33 season, Green finished 2020 ranked second in franchise history in receiving yards (9,430), second in touchdowns (65) and second in total receptions (649). He holds the team record for most consecutive 100-yard receiving games (five). Since 2016, though, he has missed 29 games due to injuries, including all of 2019. He had single-season lows of 47 catches for 523 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games in 2020. With Larry Fitzgerald potentially retiring, Green could replace the future Hall of Famer alongside DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk in three-receiver sets in Arizona.
