2 years agoThe Arizona Cardinals have requested to interview New England Patriots defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington for their defensive coordinator position under new head coach Jonathan Gannon, according to a source. The 33-year-old is a rising young coach who developed a relationship with new Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort while the two were in New England. Covington has been coaching with the Patriots since 2017 and moved from defensive assistant to outside linebackers coach before eventually moving to D-line duties in 2020. He began his coaching career in college. In addition to Covington, the Cardinals will interview Chicago Bears linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi as they look to replace Vance Joseph.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
