Cal Raleigh Scheduled To Make Spring Debut Tuesday
2 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh (thumb) is scheduled to make his Cactus League debut on Tuesday to catch starter Luis Castillo against the Cleveland Guardians. The Mariners have been holding Raleigh back a bit in camp as a precaution. Raleigh needed surgery for a broken left thumb and torn ligaments in the offseason, but he's been doing baseball activities in spring training and should be ready for the start of the 2023 season, barring any setbacks in camp. The 26-year-old backstop hit just .211 in 2022, but he also led all catchers with 27 home runs, so he should be a highly coveted power bat at the shallowest position in fantasy. It also helps that he's in one of the better lineups in the American League.
