Brent Honeywell Throws Another Bullpen Tuesday
5 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitching prospect Brent Honeywell (elbow) threw his second bullpen session of the spring on Tuesday, and pitching coach Kyle Snyder said Honeywell did great. Honeywell was "better than he was" on Friday and threw 15 fastballs in the session. Ranked as the team's No. 4 prospect, the right-hander missed the last two seasons with elbow injuries -- Tommy John surgery in 2018 and a fractured elbow last year. The soon-to-be 25-year-old still has the opportunity to become a fixture in Tampa's rotation at some point, but the Rays will obviously be extra cautious with him moving forward. He'll have innings restrictions in 2020 and is really only an option in dynasty leagues until we see if he can stay healthy.
