Braves Not Ruling Out Freddie Freeman For Opening Day
4 years agoAtlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said that he's not ruling out the possibility that first baseman Freddie Freeman could be ready for Opening Day. However, that decision will need to be made in the next couple of days. Freeman tested positive for COVID-19 and has dealt with symptoms, but he's reportedly been feeling much better of late, giving him a chance to recover by next Friday. Fantasy owners shouldn't be surprised if the left-handed hitter isn't ready to go. Because of his illness, the dynamic first baseman will see his draft stock slip slightly, but he remains an elite fantasy first baseman when he's healthy. Freeman's current ADP sits at 17. Austin Riley figures to play some first base to open the season if Freeman isn't up to speed.
