Brandon Young Goes on Injured List With Hamstring Strain
Brandon Young (hamstring) on the 15-day injured list with a left-hamstring strain and selected the contract of right-hander Matt Bowman from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move. The O's also moved reliever Felix Bautista (shoulder) to the 60-day IL after he had season-ending surgery. Young suffered the injury while covering first base during his start on Thursday against the Houston Astros and will now be forced to miss at least the next two week. Right-handers Kyle Bradish (elbow) and Tyler Wells (elbow) could both return to the Orioles before Young is back, which means that he's unlikely to have a starting rotation spot waiting for him when he's healthy enough to come off the IL. Young has struggled in his rookie season, going 1-7 with a 6.24 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 47:22 K:BB in 57 2/3 frames over 12 starts.
