Brandon Woodruff Throwing To Live Hitters
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (back) is throwing to live hitters on Thursday in spring camp. Woodruff was scratched from a spring outing earlier this week because of minor back stiffness, but he appears to be getting back on track quickly. Barring any setbacks, the right-hander should be completely fine for the start of the 2021 regular season. The 28-year-old had a very strong ERA (3.05) and WHIP (0.99) last season while also striking out more than 11 hitters per nine innings. Assuming good health, Woodruff should be one of the stronger SP2 targets for fantasy managers, especially when considering that he made strides with his secondary pitches in 2020 to complement his devastating upper-90s heater.
