Brandon Woodruff Goes On Injured List
3 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers placed starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (ankle) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with a high right ankle sprain. Woodruff suffered the injury in his last start on Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals, and he'll end up missing at least the next two turns through Milwaukee's starting rotation. The 29-year-old right-hander was excellent last year for the Brew Crew with a 2.56 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 211:43 K:BB in 179 1/3 innings over 30 starts. However, he hasn't been quite as good in 2022, going 5-3 with a 4.74 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP and 53:13 K:BB in his first nine starts, covering 43 2/3 frames. With Woodruff and Freddy Peralta (lat) sidelined, Aaron Ashby and left-handed prospect Ethan Small have entered the Brewers rotation.
