Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (groin) left Sunday's 4-3 win over the Angels after five innings with left groin tightness, reports Patrick Mooney of The Athletic. He cruised through the first five frames, allowing one run on three hits while only needing 62 pitches. Cubs manager Craig Counsell said after the game that it was a precautionary move, so there is still a chance that he's ready for his next start. This was the 33-year-old's second start since missing a month and a half with a calf strain, so it makes sense that the Cubs may be a bit more cautious with him. He'll carry a 4.15 ERA into his next start, which would be against the Rockies on Saturday if he doesn't miss any time with the groin issue.--Jeremy Heist
