Masyn Winn to Undergo MRI on Knee
Masyn Winn (knee) will undergo an MRI on his sore left knee on Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports. Winn said that a previous MRI in July revealed "a little something," but he received an injection during the All-Star break and has continued to play through the issue. While the 23-year-old would like to finish the season before potentially undergoing arthroscopic surgery, the Cardinals should have a better idea of his status on Monday. Winn missed the Cardinals' 7-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday and has slumped to a .200/.259/.320 line over 19 games and 81 plate appearances in August. Across 486 trips to the plate this year, the defensive wiz has hit .258/.314/.378 with nine homers, 46 RBI, 66 runs scored, and nine stolen bases.
