Brandon Belt Has Minimal Structural Damage
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants first baseman Brandon Belt (knee) has "minimal structural damage" in his right knee, according to manager Gabe Kapler. Rehab remains on the table as an option after Belt saw Dr. Neal ElAttrache. The left-handed slugger will receive another opinion from Dr. McAdams on Wednesday. Belt injured his knee while running the bases last Wednesday, but he will try to avoid a second surgery on the knee for now. The 33-year-old was hitting .253/.363/.512 with 11 home runs, 30 runs scored, 28 RBI and even three stolen bases before his injury, and he's worth holding onto in most leagues as long as he doesn't wind up having surgery. LaMonte Wade Jr. and Darin Ruf have been switching off at first base since Belt went down.
