Anthony Rizzo Feeling Better
1 year agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo (concussion) has been feeling better and also hit in the batting cage on Friday. There's still no specific timetable for Rizzo's return to the Yankees lineup after he was placed on the injured list on Aug. 3 with post-concussion syndrome, but it at least sounds like he's making progress now. As long as the 34-year-old veteran doesn't have any setbacks, he should be able to return before the end of the 2023 season. Rizzo hopes to resume playing in games in a few weeks, so he could return to the big leagues in early September. Before going on the injured list, Rizzo was hitting .244/.328/.378 with 12 home runs, 41 RBI and 45 runs scored in 421 plate appearances and 99 games. The three-time All-Star will probably be eased back in at first base in the Bronx when he comes back.
