Anibal Sanchez Not Rushing To Sign
4 years agoFree-agent starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez turned down multiple MLB offers after he impressed during his showcase, and he plans to wait and see how the league's COVID-19 protocols go during spring training and hope that a contender calls while he's waiting. If things are under control with the virus, Sanchez will pitch in 2021. The veteran right-hander became a free agent when the Washington Nationals declined his $12 million option for the 2021 season. Apparently he looked good during his showcase after he posted a rough 6.62 ERA over 11 starts in D.C. last year. The soon-to-be 37-year-old was excellent for the Braves in 2018 (2.83 ERA in 24 starts) and had a 3.85 ERA in 30 starts for Washington in 2019, but he's at the end of his career and doesn't miss enough bats to be fantasy relevant in mixed leagues.
