Amed Rosario Goes on Injured List With Shoulder Sprain
Amed Rosario (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 9) on Sunday with a left SC joint sprain and recalled catcher J.C. Escarra from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move. The good news is that Rosario's injury isn't considered serious, and there's a real chance he'll be able to return to the Yankees in a utility role when he's eligible to come off the IL on Aug. 19. The 29-year-old Dominican already wasn't much to look at in fantasy before the Yankees acquired him from the Washington Nationals at the trade deadline, but now he could see even less playing time the rest of the season in the Bronx. He's played in only four games for the Yanks since the trade and has gone 3-for-7 at the plate with a double and an RBI. With both Rosario and Austin Slater (hamstring) out, Jose Caballero is New York's primary bench option.
