Allan Castro Earns Eastern League Player of the Week Honors
Allan Castro earned Eastern League Player of the Week honors for June 30 - July 6 after going 12-for-24 (.500) with three doubles, a triple, a home run, six RBI, five runs scored, and a 3:4 BB:K in six games for the Sea Dogs. Boston's 21st-ranked prospect is hitting well this season, slashing .301/.381/.470 with six home runs and five steals through 46 games, all at Double-A Portland. The 22-year-old should get a shot at Triple-A pitching by season's end, and could be in the mix for an MLB debut sometime next season. The switch-hitting Dominican is not stashworthy in dynasty leagues, though.
