Alec Bohm Gains 5-10 Pounds Of Muscle
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm said that he gained five to 10 pounds of muscle during the offseason. Bohm had his best season in his third MLB campaign in 2022 on the way to helping the Phillies to a World Series appearance. He slashed .280/.315/.398 with a .713 OPS and career-highs in home runs (13), RBI (72) and runs scored (79) in 631 plate appearances over 152 games played. Cutting his strikeout rate from 26.6 percent to 17.4 percent was a big key to his improvement. However, the 26-year-old will need to get better at drawing walks and avoid chasing pitches outside the zone in order to continue his ascent offensively. There also isn't a ton of power projection moving forward, which limits his fantasy ceiling in the long term.
