Aidan O'Connell Exits with Wrist Injury
Aidan O'Connell (wrist) exited Saturday's preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals with an apparent wrist injury, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He'll end his day completing 3-of-4 passes for 36 yards. O'Connell came into the game in relief of starting QB Geno Smith after the latter finished one series. The former participated in two possessions of his own, giving way to rookie teammate Cam Miller midway through the second quarter. It's unclear how the Purdue product picked up the injury, but he did take a sack -- and lose a fumble -- on the drive he entered the game. O'Connell is likely heading for further testing, though any time missed would thrust Miller into a default backup role as he's the only other quarterback on the roster.
