KBO DFS Lineup Picks for 6/14/20 - DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball

Mark Strausberg's KBO DFS lineup picks for contests on FanDuel and DraftKings on 6/14/20. Daily fantasy baseball analysis for pitchers, hitters, and DFS stacks.

Welcome back RotoBallers to my first full weekend of KBO DFS slate previews! Unfortunately, DraftKings is only giving us a 4-game slate tonight, limiting our options. Also unfortunately, I played limited lineups last night as I was not feeling confident. However, if you parlayed my suggestions of a KT Wiz stack and taking a chance on converted releiver Ki-Young Im, you should have some money to double down on my picks tonight. Hopefully by now you have some idea what you are doing, but my suggestions are worthwhile, even if you are new to KBO.

New to KBO? DraftKings and FanDuel will use the same scoring system that they do for MLB, however, the roster builds are much different on FanDuel. You must roster two infielders, two outfielders, and two utility players along with a pitcher for a total of only seven players on FanDuel. DraftKings has kept its normal MLB structure with two starting pitchers and an entire eight-hitter lineup for a total of ten players. Building lineups on each site is going to be very different.

Today, I'll be providing my KBO DFS lineup picks and analysis for this five-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 4:00 AM on Sunday, June 14, 2020. Make sure you are also following me @MarkStrausberg on Twitter! Let's dive into the pitchers and hitting stacks!

KBO DFS Pitchers

We won with a Kia pitcher last night, so we'll go back to that well again. Hyun Jong Yang (DK $9900, FD $25) had an ugly outing on May 28 when he gave up half a dozen runs to Kiwoom. And this is the guy you want to recommend for tonight? Yes, yes it is. That one game was blocked in by two superb games on either side of it. In those four games, he averaged an impressive 21+ DKFPs. With only 11 walks all year, Yang doesn't give up a lot of free passes. He also posted a better than league average 7.9 K/9 last year. His current rate is not even a k/9 of 6.5, but I think he gets back to that 7.9 rate very quickly. Because a date with the SK Wvyerns often improves a pitcher's numbers.

The 9th place Wyverns are second to last in both hits and runs. And it should come as no surprise that the Wyverns have suffered the second most strikeouts as well. Given that DraftKings is not giving us a chance to pick the league worst team Hanwha Eagles, I'll take anyone facing the Wyverns.

With only eight SP options on the board tonight, Yang will likely be a pretty popular choice. Choosing your SP2 option can be a little challenging, which is why I'm going a little contrarian tonight. But I'm going to roll the dice with Samsung Lion, Tae In Won ( DK $7300, FD$26).

I could point to Won's 2.68 ERA, but an elevated strand rate leads me to believe his ERA will rise. Furthermore, the last time Won faced the KT Wiz, they smacked him around for five earned runs. The 20-year-old Won might be young, but he's learning quickly. His 24 to 13 K:BB ratio shows some of his upside. The Wiz are hitting .292 with RISP, but if Won can keep the free passes low, he could be a sneaky play tonight.

Other starters to consider are:

  • His ERA is a little high for my tastes, but Casey Kelly has double-digit strikeout potential and is coming off a 1 ER in 7 IPs and 0.86 WHIP in his last game.

KBO Top Hitter Stacks

The Dinos will likely be a popular stock, as they often are. Yet opposing pitcher Young Gun Jo might just be an outlaw with his filthy pitches. He's been on a limited pitch count to start his career, but I got this feeling tonight is not the night to run with the pack. Furthermore, sometimes it is best to keep things simple and roll with the same team on both offense and defense. That's what I am doing tonight. So we will start with what will likely be the chalkier stack of the two, the Kia Tigers.

Kia Tigers

I love the Tigers outfield and will be including all three of them in my stack. We start with former Atlanta Braves uber-prospect Preston Tucker ($5700, $17) who is hitting .338 with 9 HRs and a four-figure OPS. We will pair him with Ji Wan Na ($3800, $9). Both sites still have under-priced despite hitting a solid .310 and 5 homers.  Ho Ryung Kim ($3700, $10) might be the real gem however. Kim's season started late due to injury, but is making up for lost time. His season didn't start until early June, but he's currently hitting .359 with an OPS of 1.124 and is averaging 11.8 FPPG. His salary will likely rise soon, but take advantage while you can.

Like Kim, 2B/3B Seon Woo Oh ($2700, $5) didn't see any action until June. But he too is putting on a show, having homered twice in the last three nights. If you still need one more player for a stack on DraftKings, consider catcher Yong Hwan Baek ($3100), who can provide value at the catcher position should he start.

Samsung Lions

I think the Lions give Won support tonight. Leading the way will be Tyler Saladino ($4500, $8), Ja Wook Koo ($5000, $9), and Sang Su Kim (5000, $9). Kim is hitting .294 but has swiped a couple of bags already. Koo is hitting .368 with three homers despite having played just 16 games this year. Saladino meanwhile went yard yesterday, bringing his HR total up to five. Saladino is hitting far better now than he was to start the year and should be an automatic in any Lions stack.

Other stacks to consider:

  • The always chalky NC Dinos...
  • I'm not super confident in Casey Kelly and if you aren't either, go with the Lotte Giants. Dae Ho Lee, Ah Seop Son, Chi Hong An, J. Jeon and Dixon Machado make for a fine 5-man stack.
