ANALYSIS: Jeff Wilson Jr. is the clear No. 2 running back for the San Francisco 49ers and the gap between him and the team's No. 1 back Raheem Mostert is looking pretty slim right now. Over the past two weeks, Mostert has 23 carries and five targets while Wilson has 18 carries and eight targets.
Wilson is the only 49ers running back with a touchdown over the past two weeks and his history of success in the red zone suggests he should have a good chance to continue scoring over the next few weeks if this current workload continues.
The 49ers are a team that wants to run and head coach Kyle Shanahan has a long track record of breeding fantasy value out of the running back position. When one of his backs is seeing double-digit touches regularly, you want that player on your roster.
Wilson is worth roster consideration in all leagues for anyone in need of running back help and he's a must-add in leagues of 12 teams or deeper. He'll be a solid flex option in a fantastic Week 15 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
